Good for this purpose. While working remotely, I connected my work laptop to an additional 23-inch HDTV as a second monitor via an HDMI cable. This TV sat on a stand right behind my desk, so I bought it to elevate my laptop and slide a full-size keyboard underneath somewhere. I was able to avoid buying a docking station that the company wouldn't offer and greatly improved my home workstation for a fairly cheap but quality product.
