Our vaulted ceiling in our living room trapped hot air during the winter. The same happened in the summer. Only the air doesn't circulate that well. And with a traditional 3-speed fan, you can move either A LOT of air or very little air. They constantly changed speeds, trying to maintain a stable temperature in the room. Enter this thermostat controlled remote control. Now when the temperature rises, the fan speed will increase automatically! This has worked great for the last three years. My only complaint is the 4 degree increments. At 3 speeds, the temperature should change by 12 degrees. That's quite a lot. In my experience, the steps are too wide and there are still cases where the fan runs either too fast or too slow. It would be great if you could adjust the crotch area to further control the fan speed. I would recommend this to anyone trying to even out the temperature in a room.
