The gaiters protect the dogs paws from drifting snow which means less water in the hallway etc. The gaiters protect the dogs paws from dirt and debris which means fewer footprints in the mud etc. They are relatively easy to put on. Our dog is pretty calm so he got used to the boots easily. The only problem was that he needed more velcro to put the boots on. They can slip off if not properly attached. Material and fit are good. We've been using them for several weeks now. They're holding up well so far. They were cheap too. We have two pairs on hand and so far we have lost a bootie.
