A stretched medial meniscus needed that 'hard' support. Due to the complete coverage of the knee (covers the front and back), the bandage is very comfortable. Open back clamp designs when you bend your knee. Mueller makes a great product and this is an exceptional brace for the money. The steel springs are stiffer than most, fairly smooth and not bulky. There is a guide for the patella on the underside of the orthosis, which firmly fixes the patella. I also bought the same "folding" bracket. The amount of support I get from this brace is comparable to a "Max" articulated brace. The advantage of this brace is that it can be worn under khakis or pants. Nothing beats this mount for the price!
