Review on BOG Invisible Flash and Infrared Game Cameras: 📷 Ultimate Imaging Technology for Hunting, Land Management, Security, and Outdoors by Phil Prater

Ordered a new one but received 2 items in an open box from Revain, both sent back. Tried a second replacement to see if it's worth ordering direct from BOG. It takes sharp photos and videos, no dropouts due to weather or branches, that is when it actually works. The camera module "DOMINION" is faulty. New lithium-ion batteries installed. After the initial setup, the battery indicator was at 50%. I checked the battery setting in the camera menu, it showed 100% and the indicator in the corner of the screen was 50%. Turned device on and back on, battery showed 100%. Only 4 clips are shot in 24 hours in video-only mode, but dozens more videos are shot in hybrid mode. If you try to select a different shooting mode again, the battery indicator will turn off again and the setting will not be saved. Instead, the UI takes you to a settings screen, which is confusing. After one more adjustment for that selected mode and even more battery consumption, the capture mode can be saved here (please, it's not in the instructions). If you don't complete this setting, you won't know that the mode hasn't been saved until the next time you switch to image playback. And every time the recording mode is REALLY successfully changed, the next day you will find that DOMINION throws an SD card read error. My SD card is brand new and has plenty of capacity, but after every mode change, the DOMINION screen showed an SD card error. You cannot use DOMINION to reformat the SD card when encountering this error, so you will need to go to the BOG website and download the firmware to the SD card. And again there are no instructions on how to fix this in the manual or on the Bog website, luckily I'm tech savvy and figured it out (again, please). After having to reformat the card on the computer a few times to get the camera working in the desired shooting mode, I was done. BOG CLANDESTINE has nice features, makes clear recordings when it's running, but the bottom line is that the features have to be consistent and reliable. Probably needs a version update to fix the battery gauge malfunctions, fix the DOMINION UI and improve the eject button before I buy again.
