My hair is thin, slightly damaged and perfectly straight. Easily burns from curling iron; so i had to curl my hair if i wanted to curl it (but it "didn't last long"). I couldn't find a permanent wave professional; So I decided to "take a risk" and get a perm. I followed the directions on the Ogilvie pack and the perm came out great. I switched from medium to large at the top and used a medium roll towards the back of the head where I used the smallest rolls. I got the curly look I wanted without the curl. It was difficult and time consuming to make all the reels myself, but whenever one of the reels didn't satisfy me, I shot it. It was time consuming and exhausting, but it was worth it. I liked the leave-in conditioner that comes with the perm the most. It really conditions the hair without leaving it greasy or heavy. My hair is soft and intact with a curl that I love. It's as good or better than any professional perm I've ever done and at a fraction of the cost.
