We bought a couple of these for our live band. We have a wide range of sizes. I'm 5ft 6 inches, 160lbs and a 12 on most clothes. I can wear both Med-L and XL-XXL. The more the merrier when I wear layers underneath. If I only wear one layer, ML is better. Size XL-XXL fits several ladies in my group who wear size 14-18. So - just my opinion if you are a size 10-14 you can get away with ML. If your height is 14-18, you could consider XL-XXL. One of my belts is white and we were outside on a hot day wearing a light blue shirt under a white belt. The shirt was bleeding at the belt because the temperature was around 100 degrees and we were all sweating (TERRIBLE!). I soaked the belt in bleach water and it came out perfectly clean!
