When Kix released this album we were well aware of their rock prowess, but the anti-suicide ballad "Don't Close Your Eye's" became an instant classic, and so do we knew it . first time we heard it! The Kix were a fun, funny hard rock band that we fell in love with as kids but never took them as seriously as other hard rock bands of the time. Don't Close Your Eye's would have forever cemented Kix on the radio and as a band worth hearing a second time. All these years later it would be easy to dismiss them and lump them in with the many hairbands that came out in the '80s, but when you start looking more closely at the timing and quality of their music, you start to realize that they were a step ahead, many hair bands, few of which had truly sustained talent.
