I live in a 1960's Rambler and the lighting is harsh because I have low ceilings. Not only are they stylish, they also fit perfectly with the size of our house. We put one in our hallway and one in our hallway. My husband and I are not electricians and have never installed the light but installed it in about an hour and a half. I only get four stars instead of five because there were some problems with the installation. There was a long screw in the middle and we couldn't use all the washers that came with it because the screw wasn't long enough to finish installing the whole thing. Everything else went very well and I think for the price it's a good buy. I listened to another reviewer and was very careful when installing the piece of glass at the end. I had no problems with that. Another downside is that you have to remove an entire pane of glass to change the bulbs. I think this will be a big problem but I use LEDs so I hope they last a few years before I have to replace them again.
