That saved me from an "owed" accident. Otherwise I would have gone to court. I love this item because it is worth the money. The only drawback is the bright screen. You can turn off the screen, but then you don't know if it's on or not. I've had it for almost a year now and it doesn't turn itself on (when I start the car) so I have to reach for a little button to turn it on. When I unplug it from the power cord, it doesn't hold a charge. When I first got it I was able to unplug it from the power cord and it stayed on. Now that it's been plugged in for over 6 months, it relies on that power cord. Overall I would recommend a DVR to anyone but I don't know if I would recommend this one.
