The tool is really well made. Compact and easy to use. I'm not sure what the purpose of the plastic case is, but it should prevent the tool from getting scratched if you leave it in your toolbox or trunk/saddlebags. The cleaning tip didn't seem all that necessary for my repair, but should help with the small hole to prepare the connector. I had to use some saliva to lubricate the hole in the tire I was plugging as I was having trouble getting the plug tip in. Having some air pressure in the tire helped to give the tread some grip when pressing in the tool. If I were to buy it again I would choose a model with a wider end cap to make it easier to squeeze without hurting my hand. Once the plug was in place, it immediately left a tight seal in the hole and held air pressure well. A few rides and the repair looks solid.
