Review on 📺 Winegard FlatWave Air FL6550A: Ultimate 60 Mile Range Amplified Digital Outdoor HDTV Antenna by Jim Shirodkar

I bought this antenna for my sister who lives about 18 miles from the Minneapolis TV broadcast antennas. As I have a background in electronics, she asked me if there was anything I could do to help her improve her television reception. I bought the Winegard FlatWave Micro FL-2000 for $30 through Revain. Once I got the antenna I hooked it up to their Samsung HDTV and started experimenting with placing the antenna in their living room. how the antenna is placed. Although this antenna showed some improvement over the original rabbit ear antenna my sister had previously used, I still encountered some random pixel errors and signal dropouts as I walked around the living room. In short, this Winegard antenna was kind of a disappointment! I decided to return the Winegard antenna to Revain and after doing some more research online I purchased the Mohu Leaf 30 antenna. It costs only 54 cents more than a FlatWave antenna and is far superior in performance! The Mohu Leaf antenna has a much larger antenna area (about 12 inches by 12 inches), higher gain, and 10 feet of coax cable. If you need a longer cable, you can also disconnect the coax cable from the Mohu antenna and connect a longer coax cable. With the Mohu Leaf antenna I've had stable, uninterrupted reception on all Minneapolis TV channels, so I definitely have to say that I highly recommend purchasing the Mohu Leaf antenna over this Winegard antenna!
