National Hardware's N260-147 art tool makes picture hanging a breeze. I just look at it or spend it. From time to time I thought about buying a level but never did. When I saw this product I knew I had to order it. In this national artistic instrument, the left side of the green punch is fixed, but the right side of it can be shifted to the right or left. You can even remove it, as can the white part next to it that says the level art can be removed as well. With both pieces, it measures approximately 14 inches, left to right. I love that it comes with 12 nails which means you can hang 6 pictures if you use two nails or 12 pictures if you only use one nail. Each nail holds up to 5 pounds, so you can use it to hang other lightweight items as well. The nails that come with the kit are very easy to find if you don't already have them. I bought a picture hanging kit years ago so I know I have more. Art Tool, then turn it over, add a nail or two where indicated in the instructions depending on what you want to hang, it's in the white part, at the bottom of each green part or if you only use one, Then make sure it's level and then press each green piece firmly against the wall in the desired location. Then hang the picture or item and you're done. couldn't be easier! Problem solved!
