I bought this remote control to replace my old one. It took me a minute to program it, but it connected and worked beautifully! As for battery life, I haven't had time to know yet, but changing the batteries in these little fellas is pretty easy, so don't worry! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a remote control replacement. The price is amazing compared to other providers!
