I love this thing! We have a great local farm where we buy fresh corn on the cob all summer long. I like it but because of the dental surgery I had I shouldn't be able to bite food with my front teeth. So I used a kitchen knife to separate the corn from the cob. It worked fine, but this little dohickey is MUCH easier and causes a lot less chaos. The only downside I would point out is that the "spout" the seeds are supposed to come out of is pretty small and doesn't really work, but I just open it up and pour them onto a plate, NBD.
