I bought it to put inside by the patio door. I've had it for about a week and I love it. He doesn't slip. It stays in place until you pick it up and move it. The smaller size is great for indoor use - it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I have a large patio that I work on every day. A lot of potting soil and boosters are used throughout the week, which can lead to a mess. The material and raised pattern of this rug pick up dirt when I step on it and dry my feet. It's easy to fold, take outside and shake or sweep. Incidentally, my vacuum robot glides directly over it and picks up the remaining dirt, no problem.
