Review on 🧡 Masterful Half Hexagonal Quilting Ruler and Template: Unleash Your Creative Potential by Amber Perez

Not the most accurate, save your quilts.

I was excited about this line. It's a good price and has proven to be very useful (including seam allowances and multiple sizes). The shape of the ruler itself is accurate but unfortunately the seam allowances and smaller sizes are not. It looks like it was just printed at an angle. The bottom (long edge) is turned off, measured below the 1/4" line, and then tilted to be above the 1/4" line the further (left) you go. The other seam allowances are also slightly off - I've attached photos. You can also see that the internal measurements for smaller Nexus deviate from a straight line and are slightly tilted. I ended up using a different cutting mat to make sure it wasn't just my blue one. In general if you are making a life size ruler there probably won't be a problem as the shape itself is accurate but if you try to use internal measurements for smaller hexagons your lines won't need to be perfectly straight and this one small difference will accumulate as more and more hexagons are stitched together. Forget straight lines and matching dots for this one. Disappointed because I've just decided I'm brave enough for a hex quilt after having it on my ruler wall for months. Can't go back
