I've been looking for a wireless access point to extend the range of my Apple Airport Extreme base station for a while, and when a friend recommended I take a look at the access point his office uses, I thought , it would be good enough for Fortune 100, that would be more than enough for my needs. It more than met my expectations! We mainly use Apple devices in our house, so I was concerned that this device would be difficult to set up on a Mac. However, it was intuitive and easy. I followed the instructions and connected the hotspot to my Macbook Pro via Ethernet. I then went through the setup screen and changed the SSID and password to my liking. I also set up the band steering feature, which allows the access point to automatically assign the frequency (2.4GHz or 5.0GHz) that works best for your device when you log in. Tech freak like me. The only thing I stumbled upon was when I realized that clicking "Save" didn't save the edited settings. Instead, you have to click on "Changes" on the menu screen and then select "Apply". It took a while to find this in the manual so I hope this helps any reader with their setup. After setting up the access point, I simply unplugged the ethernet cable from my laptop and plugged it into my router and it was ready to go. . Physically, the device was nice and small, so it was very easy to place it on my ceiling. After connecting to an access point, I noticed an immediate increase in speed and range. Now I can finally connect to the internet anywhere in my house without losing signal or speed. This is a great product and I'm glad I bought it!
