This charger strikes a good balance of design considerations when you just need power for your Garmin GPS and two USB devices. The "Traffic" feature on Garmin GPS navigators is not supported because the power cable does not contain the original cable's traffic "antenna". If you want to use the traffic feature, you'll need to purchase a Garmin inverter, which sells for around $25 on the site. This (Garmin) design is an additional extension of the original factory cable with two USB ports on the side. When connecting the original factory cable, the antenna remains in place and the traffic function remains unchanged. But Garmin's combo device design is long and bulky, while this device is short and compact. However, if you don't use "Traffic" then this is a nice theme. It's not long and bulky, the cable is conveniently routed on the passenger side, it's compact and has two USB sockets surrounded by a nice blue light that's not as bright blue as the product photo might suggest. The cable is Garmin compatible and doesn't give you "unsupported cable" warnings, so you don't have to wait for maps to appear like you would with a direct USB connection. Aside from not supporting data traffic, there are two small downsides: on the Garmin Nuvi 2500 series at least, the mini-USB port is reversed from the orientation of the Garmin cables, requiring you to make a small loop behind the GPS . to route the cable down to the dashboard instead of up to the windshield. This is easy to handle. Another downside is that this cable is 2 meters long, over 6 feet, which may be necessary or practical in a large SUV, but too much cable in a small sedan. Those are little quibbles. Overall, this product seems to meet many design needs at a good price.
