I did my first Spartan race (awesome, 8 miles) with this pack last month and it worked great. Had to fill up a few times during the race and was very easy to open and close. Just make sure the drinking tube doesn't start to come loose. Mine was leaking because of this, but it was a quick fix once I found the problem.
