I never buy shoes online due to sizing, but I really wanted to get rid of cold toes and needed as many options as possible at the best price. The fit is slightly larger which is a nice touch as thicker socks can be used if desired. I've only got 30 miles on them so far but they do the trick. I walked 20 miles in 40 degree sunny weather wearing only long socks (the kind you find at the grocery store) and my toes were fine but not warm. They were colder than when I put my shoes on and they got a little warmer as the ride progressed. Realizing the importance of starting warm, on my next trip I tried on mid-weight wool socks with warm feet when I put them on. This trip was 10 miles in non-stop rain at night with temperatures well over 30 degrees. My toes were warm the entire ride due to the water pouring out of the puddles and rising, and when I took them off my feet were completely dry.
