I used them to make badges for an LGBT student organization that I am affiliated with at my university. Cheaper and more durable than buying ready-made products. Remember to melt/paint the edges when you cut it so it doesn't get tangled. To do this, you can use transparent nail polish or just take a lighter and slightly melt the cut.
