Holds odors but otherwise a great drawer

We loved this drawer in so many ways. It's light, good ventilation, 3 doors, portable. The dog loved the cage. We got it because she's outgrown her old hard-walled airport box she arrived in. She was supposed to be an adult when we got this rescue dog, but she needed to grow up a bit more to make up for her malnutrition. assume. After our sweet shy dog stopped being scared of him and realized it was her, she fell in love with him so much that she spent a lot of time inside him for the first 3 days. It was new, it was hers, she loved it. Then she started using it again as usual - at night and when she just wants to relax, but still enjoys it. This is a poodle mix somewhere between miniature and standard - 25 plus inches from head to toe and 30 pounds. She's a tall, lean dog, so buying something big enough for her meant she had plenty of legroom and room to move around a bit, which I know she loves. The box still gives her a sense of security but also gives her plenty of opportunities to look outside. She chews but we had no problem chewing the box. We always had a Cheesy Himalayan Dog in the crate to help. She is a very gentle dog so this leash cage did a great job on her. Then she pooped in a cage for the first time. Poor thing is sick - I'll spare you the awkward details. Initially cleaning was easier mainly because of the 3 large access doors. But then I had to completely disassemble it to clear the space between the support frame and the canvas, making it more difficult than their old box. But after a full cleaning it still smelled like poop. Yes, the frame was also cleaned well in the bathroom. For 4 days I tried everything - hand wash, machine wash several times, air in the sun, liquid dish soap, washing powder, animal odor remover with enzymes. However, the only spot where there was a major mess in her accident was the smell of poop. I ended up trying Rocco and Roxie and letting it soak for 6 hours. Then he had the sickening smell of Rocco and Roxy that he caught AND poop. Then I started washing more. After 4 days, I convinced myself that the smells were faint enough that they were only noticeable to me, so I put it on. The dog was happy about the return of his beloved home. But to my dismay, my child noticed almost immediately that he smelled like feces. Apparently I wasn't the only one who smelled it and the smell wasn't that strong. It's the smell of Rocco and Roxy mixed with a lot of poop. Pooh. Then she had another accident. More cleaning, more Rocco and Roxy. but the smell of poop got a little stronger. What about the next accident, whenever it happens? I can't go on living like this. Time for a new box.
