If I could make a list of the top 10 best things I've ever bought from Revain (and there are MANY), this would definitely make the list. I ordered this product in March 2019 and had no problems with it. Plus, I actually made more money doing it than I paid for it; I have an Etsy shop where I sell business cards, stationery, pins, stickers, etc., and the amount of money I made selling the pins is more than the amount I paid for the car. The most attractive thing about this purchase is the many pins that it came with. Even after 2 years I still have the plastic back braces from my original purchase (in the listing picture I have laid out a few of these in small containers but I still have their giant backs for the gym). In the end, I would like metal support pins to make even higher quality pins, but plastic has worked great for me. Here are some tips I can give to people who are using this product for the first time: It's junk. Just throw it away, don't waste time trying to figure it out. I use Cricut to cut out the round shape, but you can cut it out too. The needle feed moves back about 1 mm, so you don't even notice uneven cuts. - As you design, keep in mind that a small portion of your image will be pulled back as you pass it through the needleloom. - When making your pens you will notice that there is a small metal bar on the back of the two circles. These metal rods work like stoppers to ensure the printing mechanism is working properly. Essentially, make sure they are always straight (like in the picture). If your pen machine doesn't fit circles, it's probably because those parts aren't straight. Use this on a solid surface and press FIRM as you make the pins. If the plastic tips aren't threaded, you didn't push the lever hard enough. It still happens to me but next time I just press more and it always works fine. Summary: - When you receive your machine, assemble it (I don't remember, very simple). - Take your 2.25" design and cut it out (with a cutting machine or by hand) - On the left side go to Insert a metal backing (it should fit comfortably in the space). Then place your design (face up and centered) and then the plastic wrap. On the right side you will place the plastic backing (metal wire down). Make sure the two circles look as centered as possible. .-To craft the pins you need to press down FIRMLY on the left side, then lift up.Then slide the platform to the right and do the same.-When you pull the lever back up, your pin is ready to start making pins used to, it may take a little trial and error. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it right the first time. I am so pleased with the cost of this pin machine and how much benefit I have gotten from it that I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone just starting out.
