Review on Superior Essentials Wall Mounted Ironing Board by Fred Novak

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a beast on irons and steam irons

This thing is a solid piece of metal so it's imperative that you make sure the mount is secure. It comes with drywall anchors and matching screws, but I would never rely on them alone when installing this unit. A painted white board is included to reinforce the attachment, but for my application I had to make the board larger so I could attach it to the wall studs in at least two places. I cut a board out of 5/8" plywood, sanded and smoothed the edges, painted, attached it to the wall to cover two posts, drove 3" wood screws through the board into the posts. I then used the included screws (Nr Anchors) to attach the ironing board to the board. Due to the spacing between my wall studs, the board is large enough to also place a sturdy iron holder alongside the ironing board. The ironing board itself is solid and easy to use The swivel function is great The lid detaches for cleaning The only flaw I found was with three of the four screws that attach the lid to the hinge point: they were supposed to be secured with nuts, but three nuts did no. I've rummaged through my hardware collection and found matching nuts, but most would have to go to the hardware store. If the nuts are out of place, the bolts will only be held by friction.
