Review on Hurtta Torrent Coat Raincoat Cherry by Sarah Green

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive - but worth it!

The price is relatively high but it is very well designed and made of quality materials. After much research I bought this raincoat for my dog. I was specifically looking for a raincoat - not a coat for warmth but something to help my dog stay clean and dry and that can be used at any time of the year. This coat fits perfectly. The chest plate covers most but not all of my dog's lower body, a spot where he typically collects a significant amount of dirt and water during our daily long walks. She has quite a lot of hair on the back of her back. Most dog coats leave this critical area uncovered or only partially covered. This coat completely covers most of her back. She has NO hood on her head which I prefer. Dogs hate coats in general, but they really hate hooded coats, which put a strain on their heads and ears. It is easy to put on, easy to adjust and adjust at all critical points. The results are the proof and after a recent walk in a torrential downpour I was pleased to find that only her paws and shins were wet when I got home. I bought the 2 inch longer one first and had to deal with the hassle of returning and reordering this wool. Length is a critical measurement and is measured from the withers (not the neck) to the base of the tail. Even in the right coat, they're reluctant to "do their own thing" but eventually get used to it. However, when the coat is too long (like I originally had) it weighs down their tail and hindquarters and they are even more hesitant. Hurtta has very specific information on their website about your dog's correct measurements - be sure to check before ordering.
