When this duvet came out of the box it was a little hard and not soft but I put it on the bed anyway. I love my comforters, comforters and comforters that are too big on my bed so I always order a king size for my king bed. This blanket hung almost to the floor on both sides of the bed. Ideal! Tonight I decided it wasn't soft enough so I washed it in cold water and tumble dried on low. It has also decreased. drastic. When I put it back on the bed it was soft, but now it's barely the size of a queen! Does not reach the edge of the mattress on each side. If it hadn't been too late for a refund I would have asked for it.
