I wanted to use the factory connector from the old speakers so I unsoldered the clip from the old speakers, cut out the factory resistor as the new speakers already have their own resistors and soldered the factory clip back to the new speakers. .You can just connect the factory wires for your setup but my car has these four speaker wires per speaker so I decided to just use the factory clamp. The sound is fuller, with more vocal mids and a tweet. They are louder than standard speakers at the same volume setting. I tested when I only had one side connected to a new speaker and the other side connected to a factory speaker. You will definitely notice the difference! You'll find you won't be blown away as if you plugged in an amp, but for their size and price, this is definitely an upgrade over standard speakers. I am satisfied and recommend this update.
