I bought a pair of 8mm earrings and shared a photo of me wearing one of each color. through their own fault, but they CONTAIN nickel. 316L surgical steel contains over 10% nickel, and while nickel's release rate is very slow (quite unlike nickel), it still forces you into constant contact with nickel. Even if they don't produce an immediate response, they can cause problems in the future. Nickel allergies can gradually worsen with exposure, so it's best to avoid it altogether. I personally had a reaction, and that's the only reason I've ever researched this metal. Earrings made of 316L can be called hypoallergenic, but this is an incredible misconception. For the lucky ones who don't have to worry about nickel, these are good earrings. Comfortable enough to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they lock easily and securely. I had one of eight broken hinges but I'm sure the company would take care of it if I contacted them for a replacement.
