A very good backpack for big kids and adults. It says "girl" but this thing is gender neutral. This is a full sized backpack with a very large compartment (thinly padded), a large but thin compartment (maybe for a 15" tablet) and a couple of small handy zipped compartments. It hits the back and of course the straps are soft. What I think is necessary is something that's rare to find: padding on the bottom so that the laptop or tablet is protected if you drop the backpack on the floor. This backpack, like most others, does not offer this protection. The outer is a thin canvas and the inner is a lightweight, waterproof, textured plastic (or tightly woven fabric, it's hard to tell). The brand on the product is "Sun Eight". although the distributor is Caran. - Y. Not as durable as a school backpack as far as I can remember, but probably ok for high school since kids don't usually wear a backpack during the day. He's oversized shoulders for high school and younger. , I would think.
