Fit was slightly large. However, I felt this was compensated by the fact that there are two buttons to adjust the width of the elastic waistband, not simply one to close the waistband. However, the front crotch opening has a snap in the middle of it, rather than a button which I think is a little less easy to open and may cause cause a tear in the material, over time. The PJ has nice material that feels good relative to room temperature, and doesn't excess feeling of warmth or coldness. I'd have to wash it more to determine how washing/drying affects the size. I would buy another pair in Large but there's only one color'/style available, now.
