Spongy, non-abrasive

They are much thicker than I expected. This is a very heavy sponge that holds a lot of water. The green side looks like microfiber and the other side reminds me of coarse wool. So neither side is good for cleaning dirty pans, but they are good for cleaning more delicate items and glassware.
