Probably one of the coolest pieces of jewelry I own. Just put them anywhere! I don't decorate much, but when I do I like to keep things simple and add a bit of fun to dark days and early, long winter nights. I didn't realize I needed this set of 5 large stars until I got my hands on them and started installing them. I love her. So far, so good! Stable, large, star-shaped decoration with many clear, bright lights. There is a loop on the top for hanging from a hook or threading a rope for hanging. This set would benefit from a couple of suction cup hooks. So if you are thinking of placing it by a window, buy the side small suction cup hooks that can add a little more versatility to your decorating needs. Each star has a battery compartment with a long cord. Each box contains 3 AA batteries (not included). You need 15 batteries to use them all at once. Each set contains 2 remote controls. This is good as it allows you to split up the pack (through the house or with a friend). You can use a remote to control them all and the remote has many options like showing lights (solid, flashing, waves etc) and a timer (which I like) - which keeps them on for 6 hours. from the moment they are turned on and then turns off automatically. Turns back on after 18 hours. I need a little time to figure out which button does what. So I basically press the buttons until I get the look I like and then try to remember to press the timer button. They really are very neat and I'm excited to add them to my minimalist holiday/seasonal decor. I'd even keep this set (along with the big battery) for when the gunpowder runs low, or for the summer outdoors (or anytime - they're waterproof!), or even camping. I think the only problem with this is figuring out how to hide the battery compartment, but I don't think there's anything the manufacturer can do about it.
