Bought this fan to use as a touring drummer. It was difficult for him to achieve moment of inertia right out of the box. He acted like he needed a capacitor to get started. I just reached out and twirled it with a drumstick and it all went well. I got it just before the show and it was hot on stage so I had to leave it overnight. After that it was packed with my other stuff and I didn't think about returning it. We played once a month and practiced for almost three hours once a week. So I ran the fan for three hours eight times a month, turning it on to start it each time. It took 1.5 months for it to stop spinning in the middle of the show, then smoked a bit and went in the trash. Despite the mostly good reviews, I hesitate to buy a Vornado product.
