Review on ๐ŸŒ€ Noctua NF-P14r redux-1500 PWM: High Performance Cooling Fan, 4-Pin, 1500 RPM (140mm Grey) by Chris Tardy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Moves air very well but much louder than expected

I somewhat disagree with that. This is my first Noctua fan and I wasn't very impressed with it. I'll start with the good. It definitely moves quite a bit of air, perfect for the H80i it's attached to the back of and I'm pretty sure of that. I love that it's 140mm with a 120mm mount. It really fills almost the entire radiator, which is great. It was packaged in the most beautiful PC box I've ever seen. At low revs it's pretty quiet, I don't hear any extraneous sounds from it. Fits perfectly in the back of my Phanteks P600s case (be careful as it may not fit in smaller cases). Not very good. If the fan accelerates even moderately, for example at 50-60% speed, it becomes very loud. One of the main reasons people choose Noctua, besides quality and durability, is that they're generally considered to be fairly quiet fans. Although this is not the case. My Phanteks P600s, which is a very quiet case, has 6 cheap 120mm fans and a GTX 1080, and even with all of those fans running at full speed, one of them I can clearly hear is the Noctua. The workmanship of the fan also looked a bit worn, although the plastic on the frame looked a bit rough in some places. once bought away. I like the size with the smaller mounting pattern, I'm just not overly impressed with the noise level.
