Review on Magnifying Mirror - Suction Cup (15X - Three Suction Cups) by Jake Jones

Magnification might be too strong

I bought this magnifying mirror for travel since many hotels have poor lighting. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but will be traveling soon and I'm anxious to try it out. It seems compact enough to travel with - not heavy or bulky, but does not have any protective case for the mirror. I plan to keep it in the box for packing. At home I stuck it to the bathroom mirror and it has very strong suction on the glass surface - a bit difficult to remove. It won't stick to a wall securely, so it seems like it must be placed on a mirror. That will limit the options for placement when using it.My only disappointment so far is that the 7X magnification seems to be a bit too strong for viewing at the distance of standing at my bathroom vanity and I really need to get pretty close to the mirror to focus clearly. That could be difficult in some hotel situations and it remains to be seen if I like it in actual use. I think I would have preferred a 5X magnification but that wasn't an option that I could find in a small travel size mirror.

Pros
  • It saves you a lot of money from having to go to a professional makeup artist
Cons
  • May require additional time and effort for maintenance
