I was very skeptical about this car air freshener. I've spent hundreds of dollars on many products that claim to rid vehicles of odors, especially smoke odors. I have a lot of smokers in my family and my friends smoke too. Over the years I've learned never to use car ashtrays and to purchase self-extinguishing ashtrays that fit cup holders. For example this - Roadpro X-Large Self-Extinguishing Ashtray - Roadpro RP-452L. Or short. . With these ashtrays you can empty them every day and there will be no ash/cigarette butts left in the car's ashtray. These ashtrays work, but you still smell the smoke. My husband bought me one of those little air fresheners that you stick in an air vent. It smelled very good, but it was very strong. And I love strong scents. So I saw this air freshener from Purggo and decided to give it a try. I took it out of the packaging and immediately put it in the car. I live in central Texas where the temperature has been over 100 degrees for over a month and the heat index is over 110 degrees. Daily. To me, everything stinks worse when it's hot. So between the smell of smoke, dog smells and everyday smells. My car smells really bad! The next day I had to put new tires on. And I didn't tell my husband about the new Purggo, which I hung behind the driver's seat headrest. You can't really see it because my interior is just as jet black as the Purggo. And because the seats in my car are pretty high <I have a Dodge Charger> and my windows are tinted in a dark sedan. Purggo works SO WELL he didn't even smell the Glad Vent air freshener he put in there. He asked me if I had taken it off and I pointed out that it was stuck in my air vent. He thought something was wrong with him because he definitely couldn't smell him. I showed him the purggo and told him what it was and what to do and that I had put it in the car the day before. He asked me to get him one and I did. I took all other air fresheners out of the car because this Purggo works so well you can't smell ANYTHING! There is no smell. If you want to give your car a pleasant scent with Purggo, you are wasting your money. Unless you take Purggo for a few days and hang up an air freshener. But then when you or someone else smokes in your car, it stinks again. The bottom line - it works exactly as described - removes ALL odors from your car. As for how long this will take, I've only been using mine for a week so I'll be posting updates every few months. Is it good or bad. May I recommend? ABSOLUTELY! It's a little expensive. But if I don't have to spend more money to get rid of smells. I think this air freshener from Purggo is worth every penny!
