Not a woman/not pregnant (lol) so no say on the functionality irt that, HOWEVER! I actually had a friend recommend this type of pillow to me as a post-surgery recovery aid. Had never heard of these pillows before and was a bit skeptical due to the "odd" shape of it but was willing to check it out. I bought it early as my procedure isn't happening for a little bit longer just in case I needed to seek a backup option, but as soon as I opened the vacuum sealed bag up and let the pillow fluff itself out a bit, I can say it's pretty comfy! I toss and turn a lot in my sleep (which as one can imagine for surgery recovery is gonna be a huge problem haha) but in my test runs sleeping on this thing I woke up in the same spot I'd fallen asleep in. Super comfy, pretty light but will hold most of its shape. I get really hot when I sleep but so far haven't had problems. Word of "warning" though, you'll probably have to redistribute some of the internal stuffing around the pillow if it gets creased or folded a lot while you're using it. Overall positives so far!
