4 monitors with Displaylink + Alt-C mode

This is a well made dock that gets the job done. I misread the description when I bought it. When I read 4 monitors with a USB port I thought that 2 Displaylink chips were placed on the USB hub to support 4 monitors. IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY. The two video ports on the back are on the DisplayLink chip, while the other two are wired for Alt-C mode. Displaylink always works (but not suitable for games). The display of Alt-C depends on the capabilities of your laptop. Also, it would help if the ports were tagged to identify Displaylink and Alt-C so you don't have to remember which is which. The second element not well described is the power delivery function. For anything over 5V, you'll need to connect a USB-C power adapter to power the port labeled USB-C IN. So, to use this dock and get power, you need two power adapters. Not all power supply documents require this. By the way, when I used a different USB-C cable between the laptop and the docking station, the docking station was unstable. The cable that came with it worked perfectly. So if you need more than 2 monitors and your laptop supports USB-C Alternate Mode, this docking station is for you.
