Review on 🐟 Tetra Whisper Bio-Bag Filter Cartridges: Easy-to-Use Solution for Aquariums by Cindy Vang

Buy products from Tetra competitors. Their quality has gone down the toilet.

I used to like these and the filter they were designed for but in my recent experience with the new bio bags the quality has dropped to the point of being unusable. I just recently bought a box of these and each one was defective - basically falling apart when taken out of the box. After the first one failed this way, I emailed them about the defective product. They essentially answered "very poorly". After the second I emailed again and explained that it was not my mistreatment but a completely faulty product. They just doubled down on "very bad" with no interest in their products or my experience with them. I mean Time Warner Cable, Comcast, AT&T - these guys usually show that kind of attitude, but a pet product company? Listen Tetra: THE HEALTH of living beings depends on your products. A company you love doesn't care why their products fail - that's dishonest. But wait. That's not all! I use the Tetra filter they were made for in a 12 gallon tank and it was there for maybe 5 or 6 years before the filter motor failed. I bought the same brand Tetra filter and literally after two months it doesn't work. The quality is the same as the bio bags now: completely useless. A filter that doesn't pump water is useless. And no, I'm not new here. Former enthusiast who kept multiple tanks up to 350 gallons fresh and salted for decades. I know what works and what doesn't. In the form in which they are currently built, they do not work. The last two boxes, when the cartridge did not literally fall apart before installing it in the filter, worked for about 3 days, and then the water stopped filtering. There are exactly 2 fish in this 12 gallon aquarium, so almost any dirty filter should do the trick. Not this one. Conclusion: Attention buyers. Tetra makes defective products and doesn't really care. Since it's not that expensive I'll just throw away the whole filter and buy a competitor's product and I'd recommend not getting their filter for now.
