I am happy with the UGreen external drive enclosure so far. I connected it to the USB-C port on my motherboard (ASUS Prime X570 Pro) and got really good speeds. Some have complained about the speed, but for me the disk enclosure works just fine with the ASM1051 controller. TRIM works fine - if you're curious like me. Windows 10 functionality is great with full control over the external drive features available. I have a Samsung 860 EVO SSD in an enclosure and am getting the expected results for this SATA III SSD. If you properly set all available BIOS and Windows options to optimize performance for the connection type and drive interface, you should achieve similar performance. While USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 can have a theoretical speed. 10 Gb/s, you cannot exceed the SATA III limit of 6 Gb/s. * I have a problem - the case is advertised as "Aluminum". On the one hand, it's kind of metal, but the inside of the case is all plastic, and the thin metal body is bonded to the plastic interior. This does not contribute to good thermal conductivity. I added a 1.5mm thermal pad between the bottom of the drive and the case to keep the drive cool, although this is probably not necessary as the 860 EVO doesn't get very hot, but I wanted to be safer. In general it is worth the money.
