Les Miserable matches doors, gates and ramps

We thought it would be an easy replacement for our old and small doggie door with this one. Had not. It was such a shame installing this thing that we prefer to use a chainsaw, cut a rough hole and leave it. Directions are wrong. Step 1 says cut out the template, that's what you do. Then a little further, like in step 3 or 4, you realize that you have to glue the pattern together as you cut it out to line up the holes. And it's time-consuming and frustrating to hold the four fins lining the inside in place while you attach the outer half and try to connect it to the inner half. We got to the end, everything was going fine, then once the bolts were tightened the shock didn't move freely. And that's after drying it twice to make sure it works. It broke on our last try and we were only able to use it to rip off the door flap. Now when it rains, the floor in our hall gets wet. Now we have to buy another dog door because this one was so painful and poorly constructed. Save yourself the hassle and buy one that has true one-piece internals, not fins. Pay a little more so that when you tighten the screw the plastic doesn't wobble and become brittle and crack in two.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
