Bought to try and convert a small den into a workspace/lifestyle space to support ongoing Covid-19 work from home work. I understand that the main use case for this would be in a corporate boardroom or think tank, and it would really work like a whiteboard. With the Tizen OS, stylus support, Wi-Fi, dual 10W speakers and 3GB of RAM, I was hoping to jot down notes and ideas and make digital art while listening to music, but no, forget it. The speakers sound devilish and you can't connect to the bluetooth speaker I can see. The Tizen OS is severely stripped and stripped and has no apps available. Nothing but brush mode. The stylus is responsive but not pressure sensitive and the edges are jagged and imprecise. Even the notes don't look very clear. The images on the website are not an accurate representation of this device. To add insult to injury, I have a Samsung The Frame TV with a "gapless wall mount" so it looks like a framed piece of art. Flip 2 should also use the same wall mount. You can imagine my surprise to find that only the larger 65-inch model supports gapless wall mounts. With the standard Vesa mount I now have a 55 inch white plastic waste sticking out of my wall. . The only small positive is that if you have a modern Samsung phone or tablet you can mirror the screen and use touch to navigate or use. This should be a flawless exercise, but I find it very temperamental and sometimes refuses to connect. I think Samsung really missed the trick here. Can't they have a better operating system that extends the user experience? Couldn't Youtube or Spotify have been added? Could they adapt some of the S Pen technology in Note series phones and tablets? I'm pretty sure they could, but they're stuck with the idea that the modern work environment doesn't want/need that. Needless to say, going back to Revain will save me a lot of money on the Surface Studio, even though it's half the size and twice the price.
