Pleasantly surprised how it works

This reader was pleasantly surprised. It's simple and cheaply made, but it does the job. It behaves like a keyboard where you click in a text field and enter scan and card data, similar to some barcode readers. Please note that this will not work with USB 3.0 ports on modern mobile phones. If you want to use this along with a new phone, it won't work.
