Review on P3100 Label Maker Machine with Tape, Portable Bluetooth Thermal Labeler Supporting Multiple-Material Labels, Compatible with P Touch TZe Label Tape, for Android/iOS Smartphone, Black by Justin Rashid

There is no link to the application, problem setting up the application and no instructions, scrap paper

. I liked the concept of a 3rd party machine that used readily available shortcuts I have on the shelf here , and the idea of booting from an app or via a USB cable (although it's not clear how this is done). really appealed to me. First, while the product description states that the instructions include a QR code for the app, there is no QR code in the included booklet or anywhere else inside (or outside) the box. Fortunately, the name of the application (rather than the manufacturer's name) is listed on the outside of the box. I was able to download the app but every time I tried to connect via bluetooth I got problems as shown in the picture. I've tried on iPhone and Android and had no problem downloading the app, but each system reported that the phone would not connect to the printer. Eventually I opened the iPhone app and was able to connect through the app. As you can see in the screenshot of my "waste paper" label, there is no space on the sides of the two words, just a space between the two worlds, but when printing, the label manufacturer wastes an incredible amount of space almost three times as long as that printed label. While Brother has a setting you can use to reduce waste, I can't find any documentation or a way to do it here. Rather, I found that the manufacturer sells the tape and therefore has an incentive for people to waste the tape. The prints are fine but the setup was tedious and the amount of wasted ribbon is worse than Brother and therefore unacceptable.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Negative has been around for a few years

I compare and contrast this P3100 to my Brother PTD600...
