Bought reluctantly after watching several videos on YouTube showing this training racquet in action. My 8 year old son has (had) a downward motion with the racquet with the wrist tipping in the hitting zone. In order for the racquet to be level with the ball, which is on a downward arc, the racquet's trajectory must be slightly upward. He crossed the ball like X and only got hit when the timing was perfect. However, the resulting lateral touchdowns were the norm, with occasional weak pop flies barely hitting the outfield. Line controls rarity. Two days with an insider bat, 1.5 hours daily, 100-150 limited-edition flying balls. Now he swings up slightly and no longer rotates his wrist in the punching zone. Today he hits the course with a skinny club and golf balls. I'm really beside myself. He finishes the swing over the shoulder, not mid-torso. difference between day and night. Was hoping he would be more thoroughly healthy within 2-3 weeks of having his first little league game. Very impressed with what this training racquet did for my son in two days. Keep in mind this might start off difficult, he got frustrated for the first hour or so. I suggest watching insider bat videos on YouTube (guy in green baseball uniform), freezing on a hammer drill is the first exercise I would try. Then on to the one-hand exercises, short (difficult for my son). Then freeze 3/4 swing, then full swing at 75%. This is not a tool for a small child to use alone. Will need guidance. Make a video of the kid waving it on your phone, show it to him, it will be easier to convey what you are trying to achieve. Line Drive Nation's website is a Tennessee trainer (savvy guy) who does unlimited swing video analysis for $20 a month, also a great tool. In any case, if you are motivated and the child will work on this for several hours, I suspect this practice piece can help most. Once the ball is over I will be introducing my 6 year old daughter to the Insider Bat. A very intelligent tool that allows the child to feel a good swing which I have spent several unsuccessful weeks trying to explain.
