Dimensions are very small

I should have read the reviews but as another buyer wrote, the sizes are very small. 8mm is more like 5 or 6mm. I can still use them and just look at the measurements but I can't use them for what I bought them for. I really needed 8mm. I tried a few of them to see if they would snag and I didn't find anything that would snag. All mine seem to be smooth and handle the yarn smoothly.
