Back to basics - you can't beat that long battery life!

We live in the 21st century but I haven't had a wearable for two main reasons: 1) its battery life and 2) do I really need another one besides my watch? My phone can do what most wearables can—track my activity (give or take). In this time of pandemic, self-care is becoming the main driver and I've been trying hard to be active. I'm a very old person who still carries around wired headphones to do all sorts of things and I didn't mind at all. However, carrying my cell phone with me everywhere and in everything I do becomes a burden. My requirements for the perfect wearable are simple and durable - no need for fancy pieces as my watch tells me the time and my phone tells the time. I'm full of entertainment/information. Then I found this, Misfit Ray. It seems a bit dated, but the small size and 6-month battery life caught my eye. Pros: 1) Definitely long battery life: 3 tiny button cells can last 6 months. I haven't used it for 6 months (about 1.5 months) but the battery level hasn't changed a bit. 2) Simple: No fancy buttons or functions. Just tracking my actions with the 3-axis accelerometer and that's it. Well, when you reach your goal, it will light up like 4th of July fireworks (flashes very colorfully) 3) Small form factor and very light: It's small enough that you can attach it to your shoes or belt clip, or a Breast pocket or even a small jean pocket (I have no idea what it's called or what it's for). After wearing this for a few days, I forgot I was actually wearing it on my wrist. Cons: 1) Accuracy: Well, that's it. Who actually counts your every step every day? My phone app's pedometer and Ray's pedometer don't match - sometimes Ray counts a little more, sometimes a little less. Is it a big deal? ABSOLUTELY NO.2) Concerns about the leather strap: I went for the leather strap model. So this will be my choice. Ray can be worn with water protection, but its leather strap isn't as waterproof. All my watches have an elastic strap (diving strap). When that tape needs to be replaced, there are so many options. No problem. All in all, this will be a great wearable if you don't need other extra things - it's a basic/lightweight/small/long-lasting battery. I highly recommend it! For your health!
