I've been feeding my cats Nutrish for over a year now. Opened a new bag just before the weekend, on Saturday ALL five of my cats had terrible diarrhea and some were vomiting. Our oldest 13 year old cat was VERY ill. I didn't add 2 and 2 and immediately blamed the food until I took him to the vet. As I said, I've been feeding them for over a year without anything comparable. After spending hundreds of dollars on blood tests, tests, stool tests and vet visits and lots of questions from my vet, it turned out that the only common denominator was the food. Left. I stopped this feed and changed the feed. Within a day or two after 1 week of horrible diarrhea in all my cats the situation cleared up completely just by changing their diet. All of my 5 cats are doing better. 1-2 days after the change of diet the diarrhea was completely gone in all 5 cats and there is no more vomiting. My older cat is still on the mend as she almost killed him in just a week with dehydration from vomiting and diarrhea. But now he is better and we hope for a full recovery. Future visits to the vet will determine if all of this is causing long-term damage. He is almost 13 years old. I can't believe all of this chaos can happen just because of the food. I'm convinced it was either infected or they changed the food drastically and this makes the animals sick as ALL five of my cats got it at the same time right after a new food bag was opened and the diet was cleaned up. .Very, VERY disappointed with Nutrish's quality control. It could have killed my cat!
