This training collar has proven to be an effective tool for training my dogs and is a great value! This item includes an adjustable collar with on/off receiver and a rechargeable micro USB remote control. It provides detailed instructions on how to use it and what not to do. The receiver has three settings for learning: sound learning mode, vibration learning mode and electronic shock learning mode. I've used all three settings for different things and I'm impressed! It includes an electric shock setting that helped keep my dogs from running down our busy street. The negative stimulus allows for easy communication about what is good and what is not, and protects my dogs. Also, I don't like punishing my dogs as I've seen it make them suspicious of you and although ECT is impersonal. You can increase the strength of the shock you want to deliver, but you can't keep shocking your dog; this only allows bursts (which I appreciate!) Horn training was the most helpful setting for one of my dogs. She knows the beep means "no-no," and that's usually enough to keep her out of trouble. Vibration training was effective for my aging dog who is going blind and deaf. A gentle vibration is enough to get their attention or keep them from doing something naughty. This product comes with amazingly clear instructions and a "Quick User Card" that offers help with icons and pairing the remote and receiver. I've used several training collars in the past and this one is a lot slimmer and less bulky than most. His reach was impressive! The instructions say it can go up to 1500ft if left unobstructed and I have tested it to at least 1000ft and it works. You have to assemble the receiver, but it's easy and the instructions are detailed. I haven't checked the charge time but I've used it for up to 2.5 hours with no issues. Overall I would definitely buy this product again for anyone trying to train a puppy.
